Kane County is seeking proposals for snow plowing and salting services for its facilities. The contract is for one year with four one-year renewal options. Services include zero-tolerance snow removal and salting for all paved areas, entrances, and walkways. Proposals are due July 29, 2026. A site inspection is mandatory. Award will be based on pricing, operational plan, staffing, equipment, and past performance.
Proposals must be submitted electronically by Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at 10:00 am CT.
Payment terms for this contract will be made on a monthly basis by the County of Kane. The County of Kane requests all payments being made to vendors be done as direct deposits through an automated clearing house (ACH).
Vendor expressly warrants that all goods and services will conform to specifications and be fit for the purpose intended, merchantable, of good material and workmanship. These warranties shall survive acceptance of the goods or performance of the services.
Proposals will be evaluated based on pricing (40%), company narrative/operational plan (25%), staffing/equipment (20%), and past performance/references (15%).
Vendors and subcontractors must have at least five years of experience, understand winter operations, have available equipment and staff, and knowledge of snow removal equipment. They must also complete a certified sensible salting class.
If delivery of services is not completed by the time promised, the county reserves the right to terminate the contract. Failure to respond in the designated time or complete services may result in the county deducting incurred costs from money due to the vendor.
Vendors shall visit the sites on their own per the attached sitemaps. It is understood that the vendor, before submitting a response, has visited the sites and inspected them in detail.
Proposals received after the submittal time will be rejected. Any exceptions submitted may render the submission as nonresponsive. Violation of the communication provision can lead to rejection of a proposal or termination of a contract.
