This is a Request for Solutions (RFS) issued by Advanced Technology International (ATI) for the Training and Readiness Accelerator II (TREX II) program. The RFS seeks innovative development, demonstration, and expedited delivery of prototypes for a small arms orientation device and STE LTS indirect fire. The goal is to enhance warfighter readiness through modeling, simulation, education, training, experimental validation, and military readiness focused projects. A consortium has been established to develop prototypes relevant to the Department of Defense (DoD). The end state is a weapon orientation device accurate enough for ballistic model-based engagement for small arms, capable of penetrating concealment and obscurants, with a size and weight similar to the current laser small arms transmitter, and a battery life of at least 72 hours. Prototyping will occur in 12-month periods of performance, with vendor and government agreement on objectives. Desired critical objectives include accuracy for engaging human targets at **** meters and vehicles at **** meters, immunity to training conditions like metal or electromagnetic interference, ease of calibration, ability to lead and elevate over a target, and capability in low light or no light conditions. Additional desired objectives include size and weight less than the current laser small arms transmitter, 72-hour battery life, ability to engage through concealment and obscurants, and the ability to fire multiple round bursts. For indirect fire, the training device must collect information to replicate a firing event in the instrumentation system, requiring minimal setup and tear down. The instrumentation system needs access to digital gun data to replicate indirect fire effects. The forward observer must see the notional round impact in near real-time with sufficient accuracy for adjustments.

Quotes are due before 10:00 am on May 11, 2026. Vendors must submit their quote electronically through the esm solutions electronic sourcing site and complete an online registration process prior to submitting their proposal. Vendors are encouraged to submit their bids well in advance of the deadline due to potential technical issues with the online system.
