The Laredo College District is seeking proposals for the purchase of five used 2020 Freightliner Cascadia model 126
trucks. Proposals are due Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at 3:00 PM, and must be submitted in sealed envelopes to the Purchasing Office, Building P49. Proposals must include a table of contents, cover page, make and model of the truck, mileage, warranty (if any), price of each truck, and completed forms (RFP form I, felony conviction affidavits, conflict of interest questionnaire, vendor certification form, W-9 form, and Executive Order GA48 certificate). Proposals may be rejected for omissions, alterations, conditional clauses, or irregularities. The district reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, or any part thereof, and to waive any technicalities or informalities. The district reserves the right to hold proposals for 60 calendar days before awarding the contract. Late proposals will be returned unopened. The contract will be awarded to a single vendor. The district claims exemption from payment of taxes for the purchase of taxable goods and/or services under the Internal Revenue Code section 501 c 3 and the Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, chapter 20, title 122a, as a non-profit educational institution. The district will consider purchase price, vendor reputation, quality of goods/services, meeting district needs, past relationship with the district, impact on historically underutilized businesses, long-term cost, and other relevant factors. The district reserves the right to interview finalists and conduct site visits. The board of trustees will make the final selection. The district reserves the right to execute an award without further discussion of the proposal submitted. The proposal should be initially submitted on the most favorable terms that can be offered. The contractor shall specifically stipulate in the cover letter that the proposal is predicated upon the acceptance of all specifications, terms and conditions stated in this RFP. It is the intent of the district to award the contract within sixty calendar days from the date of the RFP opening.
