Danville Public Schools is seeking proposals for the relocation of a single-family dwelling. The project includes all labor and materials for moving the structure to a new location on the George Washington High School campus. Bids are due by September 1, 2026, at 2:00 PM. A voluntary pre-bid conference will be held on August 4, 2026. Contractors must be Class A registered with the Virginia State Board for Contractors and obtain a City of Danville business license. A bid bond of 5% is required for RFPs $50,000 or more. The contract will be awarded to the most qualified bidder. All work must comply with Virginia building codes and permit requirements.
Proposals must be received no later than 2:00 PM local prevailing time, on September 1, 2026.
The contract may be terminated by the school board for any reason. If terminated for convenience (not contractor fault), the school board agrees to pay for work already performed. For contracts exceeding $250,000, the school board has remedies including termination and hiring another contractor after written notice and a cure period.
The contract will be awarded to the most qualified bidder.
Contractors must be appropriately registered with the Virginia State Board for Contractors as a Class A contractor and obtain a City of Danville business license.
A voluntary pre-bid conference will be held at 161 Mountain View, Danville, VA at 10:00 am on August 4, 2026.
Questions must be submitted no later than close of business on August 19, 2026.
Any proposal received after the announced time and date of opening will not be considered and returned unopened. The right is reserved to reject any and all proposals.
