The California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly) is seeking a design-
build general
contractor for a student housing program. The program involves the design, preconstruction, and construction of new and renovated residential
buildings. The successful
contractor will be selected based on qualifications and proposed fees. A framework agreement will be issued to the selected
contractor. The program is publicly financed and subject to prevailing wage and California public works laws. Respondents must be pre-qualified with the CSU one day prior to the SOQ due date. Each respondent's prequalification rating must be greater than 350m. The program is expected to involve the construction of 8 or more new residential
buildings with **** new residential beds and the renovation of 6 existing halls. The intended delivery method is collaborative design-
build with target cost compensation and shared savings incentives. The project is subject to budget and scope validation steps. The successful
contractor may have the opportunity to complete
building B. All
buildings must align with enrollment and proforma models. The design
builder will be an integral partner in managing the project budget to align with proforma constraints. The
contractor must be licensed in California with an A&B license and registered to bid public works with the California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR).
