The Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) is seeking bids for pest
control services at the Mechler unit. The contract period is from September 1, 2025, to August 31, 2026, with options for four additional one-year renewals. The deadline for bid submission is July 7, 2025, at 3:00 PM CST. A non-mandatory site visit is scheduled for June 24, 2025, at 10:00 AM CST. Respondents must meet specific insurance requirements and provide pesticide applicator licenses. The vendor is responsible for reporting to the facility at the time of the scheduled service, checking in, and signing the employee and visitor log. The Unit Risk Manager (URM) will meet with the service technician and provide the pest
control report and sanitation report. The service technician will complete the unit pest
control report, indicating the area serviced, method used, pesticide used, and rate of application. Emergency services must be provided within 72 hours of notification. The vendor must provide current labels for all pesticides, application equipment, bait, monitoring devices, and other pest
control devices. The vendor must comply with TDCJ policies, procedures, personnel directives, and regulations, specifically PD22 and PD29. Invoices must be itemized and sent to the TDCJ Accounts Payable Department. Payment will be made 30 calendar days after the later of the invoice receipt date, goods receipt date, or service completion date.
