Latest US Solar Shingles Contracts & Bids

The US Army Corps of Engineers is soliciting proposals for replacing asphalt shingles with solar photovoltaic (PV) shingles on a historical building in Fort Riley, Kansas. The procurement is intended to use Tesla branded solar shingles, but other compatible products meeting the specified criteria are also acceptable. Interested parties must submit a capability statement by a date specified in the posting. The submission must contain sufficient detail to allow the agency to determine if the product meets the requirements. Bid deadline is May 7, 2025, 2:00 PM, at Facility Operations Bldg. 204 West Henrietta Ave, Greenwood SC **** must be properly licensed and able to obtain required insurance and bonds. A prebid conference is scheduled for April 23, 2025, at 1:30 PM, at the same location. Printed procurement and contracting documents will be provided only at the prebid conference. Work must begin upon receipt of the notice to proceed and be completed within the contract time. Liquidated damages of $300 per calendar day will apply for exceeding the specified completion time. The owner reserves the right to reject contractor's measurement of work in place involving unit prices and to have this work measured by an independent surveyor. The contractor must notify the consultant when approximately 75% of unit price quantities have been used. The owner may cancel the project prior to the issuance of the notice to proceed without cost to the bidder. The contractor must provide a two-year warranty and a lifetime manufacturer's warranty. One additional square of architectural laminated asphalt shingles for owner's attic stock upon completion of the project.

The contractor must notify the consultant when approximately 75% of unit price quantities have been used. The owner will occupy portions of the building during construction. Work restrictions include limitations on use of public streets, scheduled exam testing times, and onsite work hours (Monday-Friday, 7 AM-5 PM). Weekend and early morning work must be coordinated with the owner. Existing utility interruptions require 72-hour advance notice and owner's written permission. Smoking tobacco is not permitted on campus. Contractor personnel must comply with owner's requirements for drug and background screening. The project may be canceled prior to the issuance of the notice to proceed without cost to the owner.
