PUD No. 1 of Clallam County is seeking bids for a transmission rebuild project on Washington Street to Port Williams Road. The project involves replacing wood poles with fiberglass poles to improve system performance and reliability. Materials will be provided by the district, with the bidder responsible for others. A voluntary pre-bid meeting is scheduled for July 7, 2026. Sealed bids are due by 2:30 PM Pacific Time on July 16, 2026. A public bid opening will occur at 3:00 PM Pacific Time on the same day. Bidders must be prequalified. The estimated project cost is $865,**** must be completed by October 15, 2026, with liquidated damages of **** per day for delays.
Work must be completed no later than October 15, 2026.
Any workmanship found defective before final acceptance of the work or within one year after completion shall be remedied or replaced by and at the expense of the contractor.
The formal acceptance will be of the lowest responsive bid of a responsible bidder that is within the budget available for the project.
All bidders must be responsible and prequalified bidders in accordance with **** and ****, prior to submitting a bid.
As liquidated damages, and not as a penalty, the district will deduct **** from the quoted cost for each calendar day after the contracted completion date that project completion is delayed.
A voluntary pre-bid meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at 10:00 a. m. at the district's engineering office at 110 Idea Place, Sequim, WA, in the Dungeness Conference Room.
If the apparent low bidder does not meet the supplemental bidders responsibility criteria, the district shall notify the bidder in writing with the reasons for its determination. If the bidder disagrees with this determination, it may appeal the determination within 24 hours of receipt of the district's written determination by presenting additional information to the district.
