Prequalification questionnaires for general engineering contractors are available electronically from 2:00 PM on June 17, 2025, from UCI Design Construction Services. The questionnaires must be received by 5:00 PM on July 11, 2025, via email to abelsaldana, sr. contracts analyst. A mandatory prequalification conference will be held via Zoom on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at 8:00 AM. Project experience requirements include specific projects in California with construction costs exceeding $500,000 and $300,000, involving agency permits, biological monitors, storm water pollution prevention plans, culverts, headwalls, sluice gates, clearing and excavation in tight quarters, and work in marsh nature
reserves. Successful proposers must comply with state prevailing wages, bid bond, payment and performance bonds, and insurance requirements. California contractors licenses are required. The University
reserves the right to reject any or all responses. The successful proposer and its subcontractors will be required to follow nondiscrimination requirements and pay prevailing wage at the location of the work. The University is committed to promoting and increasing participation of small business enterprises (SBEs) and disabled veteran business enterprises (DVBE). The awarded contractor shall make best efforts to provide qualified SBEs and DVBE with the maximum opportunity to participate. The work is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. The successful prequalified proposer shall pay all persons providing construction services no less than the UC fair wage defined as $15 per hour and shall comply with all applicable federal, state, and local working condition requirements.
