Lot 1: 45- foot WOOD POLES, CLASS 5 OR BETTER Copper Naphthenate treated. Poles shall conform to the applicable requirements of Section 820 of the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, Latest Edition. Timber treated either within the Commonwealth of Kentucky or within a 100- mile distance of its borders will be inspected, tested, and approved by the Division of Materials, Department of Highways prior to acceptance for payment. When obtaining treated wood materials from a plant outside this 100- mile distance, have an independent treated- wood testing company approved by the Division of Materials grade inspect, sample, and test the wood treated material at no expense to the Department. Obtain a report prepared by the independent testing firm that grade inspected, sampled and tested the treated wood material, and submit it to the Division of Materials for approval. Test reports shall be approved by the Division of Materials prior to acceptance of the material for payment. Vendors furnishing timber which is treated outside of the 100- mile distance of the Commonwealth of Kentucky shall contact the Division of Materials, Kentucky Department of Highways, Frankfort, KY **** phone: ( 502) 564- **** at least 15 days prior to commencing an order.
