Bids are solicited for steam locomotive 464 boiler repairs. A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for August 5, 2026. Bids are due by August 18, 2026. Contractors must possess a State of Michigan boiler repair license and a National Board R stamp. The scope of work includes replacing boiler sections, staybolts, arch tubes, and boiler tubes, as well as repairing pits by welding. Specific work items have different completion deadlines in 2026 and 2027. Bidders must submit references and a statement of exceptions. Genesee County reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
