The City anticipates work to begin within 14 days of contract award and be completed within 30 calendar days. Project timeline may be amended to accommodate time required for acquisition of materials.

The City reserves the right to accept the proposal deemed to be in the best interest of the City.

Contractor must hold all required licenses for electrical work in the City of Independence Kansas. Contractor shall provide proof of insurance, including general liability and workers compensation coverage.

Bids are due June 23, 2026, at 2:00 PM. Work shall commence within two weeks of work order issuance.

Payment terms on all invoices shall be net30.

Unless otherwise specified, all workmanship and materials must have at least one 1 year guaranty, in writing, from the date of delivery andor acceptance of the project.

Every contract or order shall be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, taking into consideration the conformity with the specifications and the delivery andor completion date.

The contractor must have a State of Louisiana Contractors License: Highway, Street, Bridge Construction. Louisiana State Contractors License number shall be on the outside of the bid envelope or entered in the electronic procurement system.

It is the bidders responsibility to visit the job site and evaluate the job before submitting a bid.

Written protest must be received within 48 hours of the release of the bid tabulation by the purchasing department.

Failure to comply with license requirements, submit an electronic bid bond, or acknowledge addenda may cause the bid to be rejected.
