The
project involves the construction of a cardiac cath lab replacement at the VA Medical Center in Washington DC. The contractor must provide a proposal including all necessary materials, labor, and equipment to complete the interior renovations of approximately 2,200 square feet on the 4th floor of building 1. The
project has a 240-calendar-day construction period. Numerous submittals, including daily reports, status reports,
project schedules, construction photos, as-built drawings, shop drawings, product data, safety data sheets, catalogue cuts, security requirements, background investigation, fingerprinting, and non-personal identity verification badges, are required. The contractor must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local legal requirements regarding workers' health and safety, including NFPA, EPA, OSHA, and District of Columbia regulations. The contractor is responsible for asbestos abatement, interim life safety measures, utility shutdowns, fire barriers, portable fire extinguishers, burn permits, utility outage requests, waste removal, hazardous materials disposal,
project schedule, abatement plan, cost, schedule, sub-contracted services, existing conditions, local permits, licensing, materials, sub-contractors, equipment, dimensions, brand new materials, transportation, installation costs, continuous usage of existing systems, and temporary cooling units. The contractor must maintain continuous usage of approved existing systems during construction, including providing temporary cooling units if necessary. The contractor must provide one copy of proof of proper disposal of hazardous materials to the COR.
