The Long Beach Public Utilities Department (LBPU) is seeking quotes for welding materials, parts, supplies, and repairs. Bidders must register with the city's online bidding system (Long Beach Buys) and submit their quotes electronically by August 28, 2025, at 11:00 AM. Quotes received after this deadline will not be considered. The contract period is one year. The award will be based on unit prices, percentage discounts, and meeting specifications. Bidders must be qualified and have been in business for at least three years providing welding materials, parts, supplies, and repairs. Delivery must be made within five business days of receiving a release notice. Repair services must be completed within five business days of delivery or pickup. LBPU reserves the right to reject all quotes. Additional information regarding local preference, insurance requirements, and other terms and conditions are detailed in the notice.
Quotes must be received by Thursday, August 28, 2025, no later than 11:00 AM. Deliveries shall be made within five 5 business days after receiving release notice.
Payment for items shall be made in due course of payments of LBPU after completion of delivery and acceptance by LBPU and upon receipt of an invoice from the contractor. Payment will not be authorized until item has been received. LBPU will pay said invoice in due course of payments, usually no more than thirty 30 days after receipt of the invoice, providing that all items are in accordance with these specifications, inspected and accepted by LBPU and that applicable certifications and reports have been submitted in accordance with this contract.
Contractor warrants that all services performed under this contract shall be in good working order and shall conform to the contractors published specifications. Contractor shall warrantguarantee all parts, materials and labor done against failure due to defective material and/or faulty workmanship from date of acceptance of the work by LBPU for a minimum of one 1 year.
The award will be based on the unit prices, and percentage discounts given along with meeting the specification requirements stated herein.
Each bidder shall be fully qualified by ability, knowledge, and experience to satisfactorily provide the items and perform the service required in these specifications and shall be engaged in the business of providing various welding materials, parts, supplies, and repairs by the use of its own trained and qualified employees and have the equipment, tools, materials, and supplies capable of performing the mentioned services within the required time frame. The contractor must have been in business providing various welding materials, parts, supplies, and repairs for at least the last three 3 years.
