The project involves a citywide street resurfacing program in El Paso, TX. Contractors will be responsible for performing resurfacing work across multiple neighborhoods simultaneously, adhering to project deadlines and contract specifications. The program includes resurfacing, repair, and rehabilitation of damaged concrete structures, and other ancillary items. A detailed scope of work, including specific processes (herbicide application, concrete work, cold milling, base course repair, paving, utility adjustments, traffic control), is outlined in the specifications. The contractor must comply with all contract specifications, including Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (Tx MUTCD) requirements. Additional project site locations will be released as each project site location becomes substantially complete. The contractor must provide temporary toilets, wash facilities, and drinking water facilities with potable water approved by local health authorities. The contractor guarantees the construction work for one year from the date of notice of completion and final task order. The contractor must notify adjacent residents, businesses, schools, and other entities at least one week prior to commencing work. The contractor must thoroughly clean the surrounding area and project site daily and upon completion of each phase. The contractor must provide a progress schedule based on the sequence of work and submit an updated project work schedule weekly. Measurements for payment will be made by the designated project manager in conjunction with a representative of the contractor. The work performed in accordance with this contract will be paid for at the unit prices bid for the structures constructed, as directed, and accepted in place. Any work that is performed beyond the directions, limits or scope of the projects will not be compensated for. The contractor is responsible for ordering appropriate amounts of materials. No additional payment will be made for overages, excess materials, waste or quantities ordered in error by the contractor. The contractor must contact the police dispatcher to arrange for the removal of parked vehicles, if necessary. The contractor shall be responsible for any damage to private property caused by the construction project. The contractor upon receipt of a complaint of damage shall respond within 5 days in writing with a proposal to repair said damage or a letter stating reason why the damage was not caused by the construction. Except for extenuating circumstances beyond the control of the contractor the damage shall be repaired completely within 10 days of the complaint. The contractor shall not enter or occupy private land outside of acquired rights-of-way or construction easements, except by written permission of the owner of the private property. Copies of such written permission shall be provided to the designated project manager.
