The City of Southfield is soliciting bids for the purchase of firearms for its Police Department. Bids must be electronically uploaded to www. ***. *. * by July 30, 2026, 11:00 AM local time. Questions must be submitted via email to ***@***. *. * by July 23, 2026, 5:00 PM. The city reserves the right to reject any bid and award to other than the low bidder. A trade-in allowance is available for existing firearms. Vendors with a poor working relationship with the agency may be rejected.
Delivery will be made within days after receipt of order.
The award will be made to the lowest responsible bidder, defined as one who has the skill, quality, ability, integrity, judgment, reputation, experience, sound financial resources, and ability to comply with all terms and conditions.
Bidders must have the skill, quality, and ability to conscientiously, faithfully, and promptly fulfill the contract, along with integrity, judgment, reputation, experience, and sound financial resources.
If a bidder fails to formally acknowledge and accept a purchase order or execute a contract within ten working days after notification, the deposit, if any, may be forfeited as liquidated damages. For failure to deliver or perform, the city may purchase goods or services on the open market and charge additional costs to the contractor.
Vendors may schedule an appointment with the Southfield Police Department's training division if visual physical inspections are needed prior to posting a bid.
Failure to enter into a contract within ten working days after notification may result in forfeiture of deposit. The city may reject bids from vendors with a poor working relationship.
