The Oxnard School District is seeking bids for the McAuliffe School Roofing Improvement Project 2026. The project involves the removal and replacement of existing roofing systems. Key dates include a mandatory job walk on May 19, 2026, questions due by May 22, 2026, and bid opening on June 2, 2026. Bidders must attend the mandatory job walk. The contract requires compliance with prevailing wage laws and submission of certified payroll records. The contractor is responsible for all labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary to complete the project. The project starting date is June 19, 2026, with a completion date of August 18, 2026.
The contractor shall submit monthly applications for progress payments, and the district shall pay ninetyfive percent 95 of the value of the work properly performed as verified by the architect and inspector, less the aggregate of previous payments and amount to be withheld. Final payment shall be made within sixty 60 days following final acceptance.
The roof system manufacturers warranty is for 20 years from the date of completion. The installer provides a 2-year warranty from the date of completion.
The district intends to award the contract to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder in accordance with applicable law.
Each bidder shall submit with its bid proposal a statement of bidders qualifications which is included within the contract documents. Any bid proposal not accompanied by the statement of bidders qualifications completed with all information required and bearing the signature of the bidders duly authorized representative under penalty of perjury will render the bid proposal nonresponsive and rejected.
Liquidated damages for delayed final completion are five hundred dollars **** per day. Penalties may apply for failure to comply with labor code requirements, including prevailing wages and certified payroll records.
There will be a mandatory prebid job walk on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 10:00 a. m. pt at **** South C Street, Oxnard, CA **** at the entirety of all prebid meetings is required.
Samples for verification are required for sheet roofing materials and base flashing, of type and color specified, including t-shaped side and end lap seam, roof insulation and cover board, and walkway materials.
Any bidder submitting a bid proposal may file a protest of the districts intent to award the contract provided that the bid protest is in writing and filed and received by the districts assistant superintendent, business fiscal services not more than five 5 calendar days following the date of issuance of the districts notice of intent to award the contract.
