Medical Center. The contract is for a base year plus four option years, with cleaning occurring two times per year. Offerors must be registered in SAM. The VA reserves the right to request a subcontracting plan. The contract will be a single award, firm fixed price service contract. Service contract labor standards and wage determination will apply. The contractor shall provide all management, labor, transportation, tools, supplies, and equipment necessary to provide cleaning services. Contractor employees must hold active and current NFPA 96 certifications. The cleaning is necessary to keep the kitchen safe, by pulling heat, smoke, and grease vapors out of the air as cooking occurs, to reduce the risk of fires. The Joint Commission requires compliance with NFPA 96. The anticipated period of performance is **** to 07312030. Each exhaust hood is to be cleaned two times a year, with approximately 6 months between cleanings. A general approximate schedule for cleanings will be agreed to by both parties within 2 weeks of award. Contractor personnel are required to wear and have visible a contractor badge. Badges are issued by facilities management. The contractor is solely responsible for compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) and the resulting standards. The contractor shall implement an occupational safety and health plan. The contractor shall provide a verbal report to the CO within 24 hours of an accident resulting in injury, death, occupational disease, or adverse environmental impact. The contractor shall provide a completed copy of required accident investigation reports to the CO within five calendar days of each occurrence. The contractor shall take all necessary precautions to prevent damage to government equipment and property. Contractor must be able to provide proof that their technicians performing the work have active and current NFPA 96 certifications at the time of performing the work that will not expire while work is being performed. Invoices must include specific information. Payment will be made by electronic funds transfer (EFT). The government reserves the right to terminate this contract, or any part hereof, for its sole convenience. The government may terminate this contract, or any part hereof, for cause in the event of any default by the contractor. Title to items furnished under this contract shall pass to the government upon acceptance. The contractor warrants and implies that the items delivered hereunder are merchantable and fit for use for the particular purpose described in this contract. The contractor shall comply with all applicable federal, state and local laws, executive orders, rules and regulations applicable to its performance under this contract.
