The bid is for the purchase and removal of government-owned forest products (pine and hardwood timber). Bids must be accompanied by a $1,000 deposit. Inspection of salvage areas is invited. The opening date is January 8, 2026. The successful bidder must submit a performance deposit. Harvesting must begin within two weeks of notification. Payments are based on weekly reports. Disputes will be resolved according to the contract. The contract includes special sales terms and conditions, instructions to bidders, and general sale terms and conditions.
The purchaser agrees to remove timber on or before 31 january 2027.
Advance payments are required for forest products, with the balance paid as requested by the real estate contracting officer, having as an objective that the amount paid shall at all times be the equivalent of at least 20 percent more than the value of forest products cut.
The government does not make any guarantee or warranty with respect to the property as to quantity, quality, character or condition.
The estimated volumes will be used for award purposes by multiplying estimated quantities by unit price bid.
The bidder certifies that he is or is not a small business concern within the terms of the following definition: in sales of governmentowned forest products a small business is a concern that: i is primarily engaged in the logging or forest products industry 2 is independently owned and operated 3 is not dominant in its field of operation and 4 together with its affiliates does not employ more than 500 persons.
The government may determine the extent of damages arising from any of the causes set forth, and the purchaser agrees to pay a damage, therefore in an amount to be determined by the real estate contracting officer as liquidated damages for the injury and for the damages suffered by the government.
Inspection of current known salvage areas is invited between 8: 00 a. m. and 4: 00 p. m. , monday through friday, excluding holidays.
The estimated volumes are: item 1: 500 tons of pine sawtimber, 100 tons of pine pulpwood, 100 tons of pinechipnsawpallet, 100 tons of hardwood sawtimber, 100 tons of hardwood pallet, and 100 tons of hardwood pulpwood.
