Proposals for design services are due by 2:00 PM on July 1, 2025, at the Watertown Board of Education offices. Bidders must submit two original copies and one digital copy of the qualifications and proposal package, marked HVAC design services for the John Trumbull Primary School. A mandatory walkthrough will be held on June 18, 2025, at 3:30 PM. The project involves replacing/upgrading HVAC systems in phases, utilizing a construction manager, and is contingent on compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and the policies and procedures of the CT DAS Office of Grants Administration. The project budget is $2,374,503, including all soft costs. The project must be completed by December 31, 2026. The project will utilize a Design, Bid, Build delivery method. The project will be fully occupied during the design and construction period. The design team will be responsible for creating a design and construction document package that can be phased, allowing minimal disruption to the educational process. The design team will design the project so it can be implemented in phases and will work directly with the CM and owner to develop an approach and sequence for completing the project. The project will utilize a construction manager to assist with estimating, bidding and the coordination and implementation of the initial phases based on available funds. The project will be designed in multiple phases and be cost conscious during design and construction allowing each identified phase to be completed independently, utilizing existing HVAC infrastructure as much as possible. Additional documents are required, including the Owner's Project Requirements, AIA documents, and a Fee Proposal Form. The design team must be licensed in Connecticut. The design team must provide a list of completed projects, including elementary schools in Connecticut, highlighting projects that were fully occupied and phased. The design team must include a statement of experience with CT DAS OGA. The design team agrees that any or all past clients may be contacted by the Watertown school system. The design team agrees to release the Watertown Board of Education, the Town of Watertown, their officials, employees and representatives from any and all actions, causes of actions, claims or demands for damages, costs, loss of services, expenses, compensation, consequential damage or any other thing whatsoever, on account of, or in any way arising out of or relating to any former client of the design team contacted by or on behalf of the Watertown board of education and/or the town of Watertown to obtain an opinion regarding any project or work performed by your company. The above release shall also include and apply to any former client contacted. Insurance requirements are detailed in the RFP. Responses must be in the hands of the business manager or her authorized representative no later than the day and hour mentioned above. The business manager reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids to waive any informalities or to accept any bid deemed in the best interests of the Watertown board of education in the town of Watertown. All responses and corresponding fee proposals will be considered valid for a period of sixty 60 days.
