This is an Invitation for Bids (IFB) from the University of Hawaii for the furnishing and delivery of foodservice equipment, packaging equipment, and kitchen appliances to Kauai Community College and Hawaii Community College. Bids must be submitted electronically through HIEPRO no later than 4:00 p. m. on April 29, 2026. Questions and requests for clarification must be submitted electronically through HIEPRO by March 31, 2026, with responses posted on April 11, 2026. Delivery is required within sixty (60) consecutive calendar days from the notice to proceed. The award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. Bidders are responsible for ensuring all necessary files are attached to their bid. Substitutions must be approved in advance by the university. All equipment must be new and unused. Operating, maintenance manuals, and warranty information are required upon delivery.
The delivery of equipment must be completed within sixty (60) consecutive calendar days from the date designated in the notice to proceed.
Contractor shall be remunerated upon final acceptance of goods and submission of a properly executed original invoice and one (1) copy, indicating the contract number to Leeward Community College, thirty (30) calendar days following submission of invoice and acceptance of services/goods.
Self-contained or remote refrigeration systems are provided with startup and a one-year service contract. Other equipment includes a one-year warranty covering parts and labor, plus any extended warranties normally provided by individual manufacturers. The warranty period commences upon written acceptance or delivery and successful startup.
The award of contract, if awarded, shall be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder on the total bid amount.
To qualify to bid, the bidder must be engaged in a business whose primary and customary interest is to provide the specified goods and/or services, and must have the requisite experience, appropriate forms of insurance, and proper licenses. The bidder must also be an authorized reseller of goods and products.
Samples of materials, products, and fabrication methods shall be submitted for review at no additional cost, before proceeding with the work.
Any protest concerning this solicitation shall be submitted in writing within five (5) working days after the aggrieved person knows or should have known of the facts giving rise to the protest.
