Sealed bids are requested for general contracting work at the Newaygo County Sheriff's
Office. Bid documents are available from the Newaygo County Administration
Office. Bids are due June 5, 2025, by 9:00 AM. The bid process includes a site walkthrough, and additional written material (professional records, certifications) may be attached. Questions regarding bid specifications or site visits should be emailed to captain david cook or by phone. The county reserves the right to reject any bids, award to other than the low bid, and negotiate terms. Companies are expected to examine all requirements. Changes or addenda will be posted on the county website. The successful contractor must meet insurance requirements (workers compensation, commercial general liability, vehicle liability) and provide proof of insurance at the time of contract signing. The contractor must have at least three years of experience with similar work, designate a single point of
contact, and have a Michigan general contractor license. The scope of services includes building a new
office space, installing flooring, framing walls, electrical wiring, installing a heat pump, drywall work, painting, and carpet installation. The contractor is responsible for scheduling permits, inspections, and engineering. The county may require background checks and confidentiality agreements for contractor employees. The bid must include a detailed plan of how the company will complete the project, references, and a copy of the general contractor license.
