The deadline for submittal of sealed proposals is 2:00 PM on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, to be submitted online via BidNet Direct.

The Town has a preference to pay a flat, negotiated monthly rate predicated on the firm's assumptions about the time commitment, or an hourly rate with assumptions of what is included in the price. The attorney shall provide invoices on a monthly basis.

The Town intends to award one independent contractor agreement to the individual that presents the proposal considered to be of the best value to the Town. In determining the most advantageous proposal, the Town reserves the right to consider criteria, such as, but not limited to, cost, past experience, ability, capability, and reputation.

Qualified individuals will be those who have graduated from an accredited law school and attained a Juris Doctorate degree, are a member in good standing with the South Carolina Bar. Prior experience in handling criminal cases and criminal jury trials, particularly in municipal or magistrate courts, is preferred.

Questions and inquiries regarding this solicitation shall be submitted no later than 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 27, 2026.

Any contact with any member of the Town of Bluffton council, the Town manager, nor Town of Bluffton staff members other than the named point of contact or the Town compliance and contracts director regarding this opportunity during the solicitation process may be cause for rejection of your submittal.
