The City of Southfield is seeking proposals for the replacement of the gazebo roof at Simms Park. The scope of work includes demolition of the existing roof, repair of damaged decking, installation of new underlayment, metal roofing panels (royal blue), and metal trim/flashings. A sample of the roofing panel is required. Bids must be electronically uploaded to www. ***. *. * by July 30th, 2026, at 11 am. Questions must be submitted via email to ***@***. *. * by July 16th, 2026, 5:00 pm. Companies must demonstrate at least 5 years of experience and provide 3 references. The contractor is responsible for site cleanup and debris disposal.
Project completion within agreed-upon schedule.
Payment will be made within thirty 30 days of receipt of the invoice.
Written warranty documentation for materials and workmanship is required. Any defects in workmanship or materials identified within the warranty period shall be repaired or replaced at no cost to the city.
Companies must demonstrate successful completion of work of similar scope and size, evidence of licensure, certification, and experience, a minimum of 5 consecutive years of experience under the current company name, and references for at least 3 similar projects completed within the last 5 years.
For failure to deliver or perform in accord with the accepted proposal, the city may consider the contractor in default and take steps to protect the city's interest. The city may purchase goods or services on the open market and charge additional costs to the contractor.
Companies will be held to have inspected the work area to determine the conditions under which they will be expected to perform. Contractors will be responsible for conducting their own field measurements.
A sample of the royal blue roof panel should be delivered to the City of Southfield, Municipal Building, Purchasing Dept.
Failure to enter into contract within ten 10 working days after notification may result in forfeiture of deposit. Contacting city staff outside of the designated point of contact during the solicitation process may lead to nullification of results or dismissal of the submission.
