Bridgeway Safety Improvement Project Napa St to Johnson Street The scope of work includes, but is not limited to: new stamped at grade medians, shortened left turn pockets and new protected refuge islands to provide space for pedestrians to use while crossing the street. New bulb outs and curb ramps are included at six intersections which extend into the street and thus shorten the time pedestrians are in the traveled way and make them more visible to drivers. Update all current street traffic markings. This also includes installing green pavement markings for cyclists at the roadway crossing and yield marking on the pavement. Removal of parking close to existing crosswalks per AB413 with the intent of improving visibility of pedestrians. Removing duplicative crosswalks, adding median refuges, adding color or stamped surfaces to the medians, and reducing some to the median width to accommodate bicycle travel. Installation of rectangular rapid flashing beacons at bridgeway crosswalks.
