Sealed bids are invited for the Southgate Community Center Parking Lot Reconstruction. Proposals are due by August 13, 2026, at 2:00 PM. The project is expected to commence on September 1, 2026, and be completed by October 31, 2026. Bidders must submit a bid guaranty of 10% of the bid amount. The City of Southgate reserves the right to waive irregularities and reject any or all bids, awarding to the responsible bidder offering the best and most responsive proposal considering quality, service, performance record, and price. Bid documents can be obtained from Verdantas LLC for a nonrefundable cost.
The project is required to be completed no later than October 31, 2026.
The contractor warrants that materials and equipment will be of good quality and new, and the work will conform to contract documents and be free from defects, excluding damage from abuse, alterations not by the contractor, improper maintenance, or normal wear and tear.
The city council shall authorize acceptance of the bid made by the responsible bidder who, in council's judgment, offers the best and most responsive proposal to the city, considering quality, service, performance record, and price.
Bidders must furnish satisfactory evidence that they have the necessary resources, have operated a business of the type for at least two years, possess sufficient experience, ample equipment and personnel, adequate financial resources, a satisfactory record of integrity and performance, and are otherwise qualified and eligible under applicable Kentucky laws.
If the contractor fails to execute the contract within the required time, the contractor's bid guaranty may be forfeited to the owner as liquidated damages. Failure to maintain the roadway or structure may result in the engineer proceeding to maintain it at the contractor's expense.
The bidder is expected to examine carefully the site of the proposed work. Subject to public safety and convenience, prospective bidders will be permitted to explore the site by boring or test pits, with permits issued by the engineer. Explorations are at the sole risk and expense of the bidder.
Before the contract is awarded, the bidder may be required to furnish a complete statement of the origin, composition, and manufacturer of any materials to be used, together with samples, which may be subjected to tests.
Bids may be disqualified if submitted unsealed or unsigned, or deemed unresponsive. Bids submitted without a bid guaranty or with an invalid guaranty will be disqualified. Proposals may be considered nonresponsive if on a form other than furnished, altered, or if there are unauthorized additions, conditional or alternate bids, conditions, or irregularities.
