This is a public tender notice from the City of Aurora, Colorado, for the Virginia Drive Tributary Improvements and Alameda-Havana Warning Signs Project. The project aims to address localized flooding and maintenance issues in the Westerly Creek watershed. A bid bond of not less than five percent of the bid amount is required. The City of Aurora's Small Business Enterprise (SBE) program requires large businesses to make good faith efforts to award at least 10% of subcontracting dollars to SBEs for contracts over $250,000. Specific forms for SBE participation must be submitted within three working days after the bid opening.
The contract documents require that all work be substantially complete by September 20, 2026, with final completion by October 20, 2026.
The city now makes payments through electronic transfers. The successful bidder will be asked to complete the direct payment authorization ACH form upon contract award.
It is the intent of the city to award a contract to the lowest responsible bidder provided the bid has been submitted in accordance with the requirements of the bidding documents, is judged to be fair and reasonable, and to be in the best interest of the city, and does not exceed the appropriated funds available.
Only those qualified prime contractors selected from the previous prequalification process will be allowed to participate in this invitation for bid.
Failure to complete the work as prescribed shall be considered as a breach of contract and subject to liquidated damages which are $1,**** per day.
It is the responsibility of each bidder, before submitting a bid, to visit the jobsite to become familiar with local conditions that may affect the cost, progress, performance or completion of the project.
