Funding available for cranberry bog renovations and enhancements to improve productivity, sustainability, and environmental stewardship. Applications are due by 4:00 PM on Thursday, August 20th, 2026. Renovation projects have a maximum of $25,000 per acre, up to $125,000. Enhancement projects are funded up to 80% of total costs, not exceeding $50,000. A minimum 20% match is required for enhancement projects. All projects must be completed and invoiced by June 30, 2027. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered. Applications must be submitted online.

Disbursement of funds will be on a reimbursement basis, requiring acceptable documentation submitted to the department prior to any payment. Only expenses incurred during the contract period are eligible. Invoices must be submitted no later than June 30, 2027.
Equipment must carry a manufacturer's warranty of at least one 1 year.
Proposals will be evaluated based on applicant operation capacity, project need justification, feasibility project implementation, project impacts outcomes, and overall project value funding priority.
Eligible applicants are cranberry operations engaged in commercial production agriculture, defined by m. g. l. c. 128, section 1a. Projects must be located on property in active agricultural use and under the applicant's ownership or control for at least three 3 consecutive years.
Failure to obtain or remain in compliance with required approvals may result in termination of the contract.
All applicants give permission to have a site visit by MDAR staff, which may be necessary before a funding decision is made. All site visits will be arranged with you in advance.
Late or incomplete applications will not be considered. Misrepresentation of SBPP status will result in disqualification from consideration, and may result in debarment, contract termination, and other actions.
