These two portals will be opened, drained, closed with non- wildlife accessible closures and capped with excavated material with drainage features installed to conduct mine water to the adjacent natural drain. Excess material will be transported to the onsite waste area. A Class III ditch and culvert will be installed in the natural drain to protect the drainage features and conduct the collected drainage ultimately to the natural stream. At the middle area, a slide threatening a structure, open and draining portals and a water body impounded above open portals are causing stability and safety concerns. The slide will be addressed by excavating to rock and installing subdrain between the structure and the slide area. The subdrain will outlet into a concrete block- tied mat ditch along the driveway to the natural stream. The water body impounded over existing portals will be drained, the two portals closed with non- wildlife accessible closures and drainage features installed to conduct future drainage to the natural stream. Waste material generated by this project will be used as a top treatment above the portal closures. Waste placement along with grading will make the area nonimpounding.
