Sealed bids due October 22, 2026, 1:30 PM for purchase and installation of a **** foot precast concrete truck scale with 75-ton capacity. Prebid conference on October 8, 2026, at the Recycling Transfer Station, **** Central Ave. , Needham, MA. Bid deposit of 5% required. Payment bond of 50% required. Installation must be completed within 8 weeks of contract execution. Award to lowest responsible and eligible bidder. Questions due October 14, 2026.
The awarded vendor will be expected to build, ship, install, and calibrate a new truck scale within 8 eight weeks of contract execution. The new scale shall be installed and operational within two 2 consecutive working days following delivery.
Payment shall be made on the amount of work performed based upon the unit prices placed on the bid forms. Payment shall be made upon submission of an invoice and acceptance of the work by the director of public works. Prepayment is not allowed.
The load cells shall be warranted for a minimum of 25 years, including damage resulting from lightning, while serviced by an authorized manufacturers agent. The weighbridge shall include a minimum five-year warranty.
The town will award the contract to the lowest responsible and eligible bidder as set forth in section 1. 15.
All bidders must furnish proof of a minimum of three 3 continuous years in business. All bidders must provide owner contact information for five 5 projects of similar nature and scope completed within the last five 5 years.
There is a thirty 30 day cancellation clause in this contract for improper service. Complaints not rectified within a reasonable length of time may cause the town to notify the contractor by registered or certified mail that the contract will be cancelled thirty days from the date of the letter.

Proposals from companies or individuals not acknowledging the addenda may be rejected as not responsive. Late bids will not be considered. All bids must be accompanied by a bid deposit in an amount that is not less than five percent 5 of the value of the bid.
