The town agrees to pay the bidder for the full completion of the work embraced in this contract, within 30 days of the receipt of the final invoice. When subcontractors or suppliers are utilized, the successful bidder shall be required to submit a mechanics lien waiver, acceptable to the town, with each progress payment and/or at the time of final payment prior to any payment being made.
The contractor guarantees that the work to be done under this contract and the materials furnished by him and used in the construction of the project are free from defects or flaws for a term of one (1) year from and after the date upon which the final estimate of the engineer is formally approved.
The town of Ridgefield reserves the right to accept or reject any bid to best serve its interests, or to hold the bids for sixty (60) days before decision. The town reserves the right to reject any and all bids or any part thereof, to waive defects in proposals, or to accept any bid deemed to be in its best interest. Consideration of prior service, previous performance, and quality of service and merchandise will be considered.
The Contractors Qualification Statement must be filled out as part of the bid package, and the experience and references listed therein will be one of the determining factors in the awarding of the bid. The town may consider the bidder's record in the performance of any contracts for similar work into which they may have previously entered.
The input does not explicitly state penalties for non-compliance or delays, but it does mention that if the contractor defaults or persistently fails or neglects to carry out the work in accordance with the contract documents or fails to perform a provision of the contract, the owner, after seven days written notice to the contractor, may make good such deficiencies and may deduct the cost thereof from the payment then or thereafter due the contractor.
A mandatory site visit will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at 11:00 am, located at 60 South Street. Failure by a bidder to attend the mandatory site visit shall render that bidder's proposal nonresponsive.
Samples of articles, when required, shall be furnished free of cost of any sort to the Town of Ridgefield. Samples received may be retained by the town for future comparison.
The input states that RFIs (Requests for Information) are due by Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 11:00 am. This is the deadline for submitting questions or requests for interpretation regarding the bid documents.
