Proposals are due by email only, on or before August 19, 2026, by 4 pm.

The electrical contractor must be a preapproved/prequalified National Grid electrical contractor and employ full-time linesmen in accordance with the New York State Department of Labor.

Proposals received after the stated due date and time will be considered nonresponsive.

The delivery date for the contract is from the date of award through January 1, 2027. Delivery may be extended if agreeable to both the contractor and the Town of Grand Island.

Payments will be made in equal monthly installments over the term of the contract, commencing January 31, 2027. The contractor shall provide a monthly voucher for work completed.

The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder whose bid is in the best interests of the town, considering responsibility, past performance, quality of services, and conformity to terms and conditions.

Bidders must demonstrate an ability to provide the required services, including a list of towns served in the past three years and a summary of experience. A certified copy of the most recent official financial statement is also required.

If the contractor fails to complete the contract within the specified delivery date, they may be liable for liquidated damages of 1% of the total contract amount per day.

The town reserves the right to reject any bid not accompanied by required bid security or data, or any bid that is incomplete or irregular. The town may also reject a bid if the bidder is deemed not responsible or not properly qualified.
