The City of Punta Gorda is seeking proposals from experienced contractors to design, furnish, and install a security fence and access gates at the Public Safety Building. Proposals are due by June 8, 2026, at 3:00 PM ET. Questions must be submitted by June 1, 2026, at 3:00 PM ET. A non-mandatory pre-submittal conference with a site visit is scheduled for May 27, 2026, at 10:00 AM ET, and an additional non-mandatory site visit is scheduled for May 29, 2026, at 9:00 AM ET. Bidders are cautioned that failure to attend the conference or visit the site does not excuse them from understanding the project requirements. Submission of a bid implies acquaintance with the work and site conditions. Protests must be filed within 72 hours of the solicitation package release, with a formal protest due within 5 business days of the notice of protest. Communication with city staff outside of the designated contact person is prohibited and may result in rejection of the submittal. Bidders must submit only one submittal package and cannot propose alternate services or commodities. The city reserves the right to waive formalities, reject any or all responses, and accept the bid deemed in the best interest of the city. Bidders must complete and submit all required city forms; inclusion of additional terms and conditions may result in rejection.
The bid submission deadline is June 8, 2026, at 3:00 PM ET. The bid will be construed as the bidder being acquainted with the work to be performed, and the bidder shall make a careful examination of the project site and satisfy themselves as to the quantity and quality of materials and workmanship required.
The city reserves the right to accept the bid that, in its judgment, will be in the best interest of the city.

A written notice of protest must be filed within 72 hours after the posting and release of the solicitation package by the city, and the formal written protest shall be filed within 5 business days after the date the notice of protest is filed.
Any contact with city members other than the authorized city contact person regarding this solicitation, or their submittal package, city's intent to award, or city's intent to reject, prior to the formal award, shall be cause for rejection of your submittal.
