milling services in Dunstable, MA for the 2025 construction season, with a possible extension for up to two additional years. The estimated annual contract value is $399,****, with a total three-year potential contract value of $1,199,**** are due Thursday, August 14, 2025, at 12:00 PM. Bid opening is at 3:00 PM on the same day. Bidders must be prequalified in accordance with MassDOT requirements. A 5% bid bond and a 50% payment and performance bond are required. Additional documents are required, including a certificate of non-collusion, completed bid form, statement of state tax compliance, OSHA training requirements, certificate of vote, weekly payroll records report, statement of compliance, and other applicable materials. milling, asphalt concrete excavation, raise and adjust castings, rebuild manholes and catch basins, new catch basin and manhole frames and covers, rubberized crack sealing, and grinding transitions. The contractor will be responsible for damage to existing castings resulting from their operation. The Town of Dunstable reserves the right to salvage materials such as granite, brick, or
millings. The Town will arrange and pay for all required police details. The contractor will provide all necessary barricades, signs, and cones for road closures and detours. The bid for item 1 bituminous concrete laid in place shall be subject to a price adjustment for bituminous concrete mixtures. milling, loading, disposal, sweeping, and final cleanup. The contractor shall be responsible for excavating asphalt concrete pavement by cold planer. The cold planer shall be equipped with a cutter drum at least 72 inches wide with an elevating device capable of loading milled material directly into trucks while operating and with dust control system capable of complying with environmental air quality standards. The contractor will be required to supply auxiliary
milling equipment to clean up work along the curbs and around castings. Work areas shall be left clean and free from debris at the end of each workday. The use of planing equipment mounted on pneumatic tires will be permitted only for cleanup work or in areas less than 10 feet wide. The contractor will be responsible for damage to existing castings resulting from his operation unless such castings have previously been paved over, are not visible on the surface, and have not been marked out in the field by the highway personnel. The town of dunstable reserves the right to salvage any material such as granite, brick, or
millings. The town will arrange and pay for all required police details. The contractor will provide all necessary barricades, signs and cones for road closures and detours. The contractor will also provide cones and barricades for traffic lane control. The bid for item 4 raise and adjust castings for overlay under the unit price for this item, the contractor shall furnish and perform the raising and adjusting of castings for the overlay as indicated in the delivery order. Measurement for payment will be made based on each casting adjusted and raised. Payment for this item will be made at the unit price bid and will be considered full compensation for all labor, materials and equipment, brick, cement, tools, and incidentals to raise the casting and rebuild up to 12 inches of masonry below the casting complete the work as specified.
