KCATA is seeking proposals for the rental, laundering, and maintenance of uniforms, towels, and mats. The contract will be for three years with two optional one-year extensions. Proposals are due by July 16, 2026. Site visits must be requested in advance and completed by June 22, 2026. Pre-proposal questions are due by June 29, 2026. Samples of all garment types must be submitted with the proposal. The evaluation criteria include quality/style of garments, cost, technical compliance, management approach, and past performance.
Stock uniform sizes shall be delivered within ten (10) business days from the date of order. Made-to-measure uniforms shall be delivered within thirty (30) business days from the date of order. Failure to deliver new or made-to-order uniforms in the time frame above may result in a charge of $50 per week until the uniforms are delivered.
Vendor shall mend or replace all uniforms to the extent necessitated by normal wear and tear including excessive grease, oil and/or paint stains which cannot be removed by vendor. Such uniforms should be replaced with new uniforms. Any uniform lost or misplaced by vendor shall be replaced with a new uniform at no charge to KCATA.
Proposals will be evaluated based on: quality/style of garments (20 points), cost/price (20 points), compliance with technical requirements and specifications (20 points), management approach and quality assurance (20 points), and past performance and references (20 points).
The successful contractor shall be licensed to do business in the state of Kansas and in the state of Missouri. Vendors are expected to coordinate with KCATA to ensure a smooth, efficient transition without disruptions of KCATA operations.
Failure to deliver new or made-to-order uniforms in the time frame above may result in a charge of $50 per week until the uniforms are delivered.

Samples of all garment types shall be furnished under this procurement and must be submitted with the proposal. Womens garment samples shall be clearly identified. Samples of garment color options of each garment type shall be furnished under this RFP and must be submitted with the proposal.
Presubmittal protests must be received by the authority, in writing and addressed to KCATA's Director of Procurement, no later than five (5) days before the bid closing date. Postsubmittal/preaward protests must be received by the authority, in writing and addressed to KCATA's Director of Procurement, no later than five (5) days after the bid closing date.
Any contact with KCATA's board of commissioners or employees (excluding procurement staff) during the period beginning on the date of proposal issue and ending on the date of selection of a contractor, other than through authorized channels, would be grounds for disqualification of the proposer.
