The bid is for the construction of improvements to the Bloomfield Park play area. Bids must be submitted by December 2, 2025, at 11:00 AM. A nonmandatory prebid meeting will be held on November 18, 2025, at 2:00 PM. The contractor must possess a valid Class A contractor's license or a combination of Class C licenses. The playground installer must have factory playground installation certification. The city will retain 5% of payments unless the contractor deposits securities of equivalent value. The final retention will be authorized for payment 35 days after the date of recordation of the notice of completion.
The contractor may elect to receive 100 percent of payments due under the contract documents from time to time, without retention of any portion of the payments by the city, by depositing securities of equivalent value with the city in accordance with the provisions of section **** of the public contract code. If the contractor chooses not to exercise its rights under public contract code section ****, the full five percent 5 retention will be deducted from all payments. The final retention will be authorized for payment thirtyfive 35 days after the date of recordation of the notice of completion, if no stop notices or liens have been filed.
The city reserves the right after opening bids to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in a bid, or to make award to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder as determined by the proposal, and reject all other bids, as it may best serve the interest of the city.
The contractor shall possess a valid class a contractors license, or any combination of class c contractors licenses, as necessary to perform the work, at the time of contract award, in accordance with provisions of chapter 9, division iii of the california business and professions code. The playground installer must have factory playground installation certification by playpower, inc.
A nonmandatory prebid meeting will be held at the jobsite, bloomfield park play area, **** pioneer boulevard, lakewood, ca, on tuesday, november 18, 2025, at 2: 00 pm. The meeting is notmandatory but attendance is highly encouraged.
