The contract is expected to be fully executed on or about 25 calendar days after successful bidder qualification and recommendation of award. The contractor agrees to start construction immediately after receipt of a fully executed contract, and to complete the work by the substantial completion date.
The university shall pay the contractor within thirty 30 days of receipt of a properly submitted, complete and correct application for payment. Payments to the contractor shall be subject to retainage of ten percent 10 of the cost of work for each application for payment until the work is fifty percent 50 complete.
The contractor unconditionally guarantees the work under this contract to be in conformance with the contract documents and to be and remain free of defects in workmanship and materials for a period of one 1 year two 2 years from the date of substantial completion, unless a longer guarantee period is stipulated in the contract documents.
The competency and responsibility of bidders will be considered in making the award. The university is not obligated to accept the lowest or any other bids.
The owner may request each of the three 3 low bidders to submit information necessary to satisfy the owner that the bidder is adequately prepared to fulfill the contract. Such information may include past performance records, list of available personnel, plant and equipment, description of work that will be done simultaneously with the owners project, financial statement, or any other pertinent information.
It is understood and agreed that, if project is not completed within the time specified in the contract plus any extension of time allowed pursuant thereto, the contractor shall pay as liquidated damages to the owner the sum of **** per day for each days delay in substantially completing said project beyond the time specified in the contract and any extensions of time allowed thereunder.
A site visit is scheduled for April 2, 2026, 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Samples are physical examples furnished by the contractor to illustrate materials, equipment, color, texture, or workship, and to establish standards by which the work will be judged. Unless otherwise approved, at least two samples will be submitted for each item requiring samples to be submitted.
Due date for questions shall be April 9, 2026, at 12:00 noon.
