The City of Medford is seeking bids for the Willis Avenue Restoration project. Bids are to be submitted electronically by June 8, 2026, at 11:00 am. Key project components include granite curbing, concrete and asphalt sidewalks and driveways, drainage structure adjustments, paving, signage, traffic control, and earthwork. Contractors must have at least five years of business experience and three relevant references. Liquidated damages of $500 per day will apply for late completion. The contract term is expected to end by November 15, 2026. Prevailing wage rates apply, and compliance with federal labor standards (Davis-Bacon Act, Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act) is required. The contract shall commence upon signature of the contract and end no later than November 15, 2026.
Payment shall be made on the amount of work performed based upon the unit prices placed on the bid forms. Payment shall be made upon submission of an invoice and acceptance of the work by the city engineer or designated agent. Five percent (5%) retainage will be held on all work of this contract.
The contractor will warrant that all workmanship shall be first class and shall be performed by persons qualified and licensed in their respective trades.
Failure to meet any or all the specifications listed in this IFB may result in rejection of a bid. A single contract will be awarded for all bid items.
All bidders must furnish proof of a minimum of five (5) continuous years in business and at least three (3) references for completed projects of similar size and scope in the last 3 years.
The bidder further agrees to pay as liquidated damages the sum of five hundred (****) dollars for each consecutive calendar day thereafter that the work is not complete as provided in the contract.
