The Saint Louis Zoo is seeking proposals for the fabrication and installation of exhibits for the Wildcare Park Zoo-Museum Experience. The project includes fabricating, coordinating, installing, testing, and commissioning all exhibit elements. The fabrication and installation must be completed by March 1, 2027. Proposals will be evaluated using a best-value methodology, with cost accounting for 30% of the evaluation. The deadline for questions is June 23, 2026, and proposals are due by July 7, 2026. Attendance at the pre-bid meeting on June 16, 2026, is strongly encouraged.
The fabrication and installation of the zoo museum exhibit needs to be completed by March 1, 2027.
Applications for payment shall be submitted on a form approved by the zoo on a monthly basis. Retainage shall be withheld in accordance with Missouri law, with ten percent (10%) withheld from each progress payment.
Proposals will be evaluated based on weighted criteria: Cost Proposal, Pricing and Hourly Rate (30%), Technical Approach (25%), Relevant Experience (25%), Detailed Project Schedule/Phasing (10%), and Project Team (10%).
Proposers must be authorized to do business in Missouri, have a minimum of five years of construction experience or equivalent, demonstrate completion of at least three similar projects, provide required bonding capabilities, and comply with OSHA 10-hour training requirements.
If the contractor fails to achieve substantial completion within the time specified, the zoo may assess liquidated damages. Failure to comply with prevailing wage requirements may subject the contractor to penalties.
Attendance at the pre-bid meeting is strongly encouraged but not mandatory. If site visits are requested, only vendors who attended the pre-bid meeting will be eligible to participate.
A protest concerning the terms, conditions, or specifications of this solicitation must be filed within five (5) business days after the basis of the protest is known or should have been known. A protest concerning the notice of intent to award must be filed within five (5) business days following issuance of the notice of intent to award.
Unauthorized contact with Saint Louis Zoo employees regarding this solicitation may result in disqualification. Failure to meet minimum qualifications may result in rejection as nonresponsive.
