The sale is on an as is basis, and no sorting will be permitted on site. Proposals are due by 4:00 PM Eastern Standard Time on Friday, May 15, 2026, and must be submitted electronically via email to ***@***. *. * bid deposit is not required, but the successful contractor must pay the entire sale price prior to scrap removal. Payment is due within 5 days of receiving an invoice from the government via pay. gov. The Watervliet Arsenal installation management logistics division will oversee the loading of the mixed metal, and the contractor must provide a roll-off dumpster. The contractor is responsible for weighing the truck upon arrival and departure to determine the actual weight of the scrap. Questions should be submitted via email to the same address. The government reserves the right to reject unacceptable proposals and reoffer the lots at a later time or during this sale. Failure to pay for and remove the scrap may result in a default fee and barring from future government sales.
The bid notice states that the successful contractor must pay for and remove the property within 60 calendar days after the date of bid opening, or within the period specified by the government or the bidder, but not less than 10 calendar days in any case. For scrap removal, payment is due within 5 days of receiving an invoice from the government and prior to scrap removal.
The successful contractor must pay the entire amount of the sale price prior to removal of the scrap metal. An invoice will be processed and sent to the contractor via pay. gov, and payment is due within 5 days of receiving the invoice. If the actual weight of scrap is less or more than 1,000,000 lbs. , the government will issue a credit or additional invoice to the vendor via pay. gov, which shall be paid within 5 days of receipt.
The bid notice states that all property listed therein is offered for sale as is and where is. The government makes no warranty, express or implied, as to quantity, kind, character, quality, weight, size, or description of any of the property, or its fitness for any use or purpose.
The contract will be awarded to that responsible bidder whose bid conforming to the invitation will be most advantageous to the government, price and other factors considered.
The bidder represents that they are an individual other than a full-time, bona fide employee working solely for the bidder, or a small business. The bidder also warrants that they are not under 18 years of age, an employee of an agency of the federal government prohibited from purchasing property, or an agent or immediate family member of such an employee.
Failure to pay for and remove the scrap may subject the bidder to paying a default fee and being barred from future government sales. The government reserves the right to terminate the contract for any contractor default.
The bidder is invited, urged, and cautioned to inspect the property prior to submitting a bid. The property will be available for inspection at the places and times specified in the invitation.
