Justification for awarding a sole-source purchase order to the Athenee Hotel for emergency lodging for displaced US diplomats in Bangkok, Thailand, due to the earthquake in Myanmar. The hotel is close to the US embassy, has sufficient vacancies, and maintains a professional relationship with the embassy. The estimated value for the entire period of performance is $200,000, including options. The contracting officer has deemed only one source reasonably available based on urgency, exclusive licensing agreements, brand name, and industrial mobilization.
