The Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority (MPEA) is seeking proposals for explosive detection canine services. Services are required 24/7 at McCormick Place facilities. Contractors must provide trained canine teams and handlers, meeting specific training and certification standards. Proposals are due by June 22, 2026. A mandatory site visit is scheduled for June 3, 2026. Evaluation will consider qualifications, experience, personnel, pricing, and references.
Proposals are due no later than Monday, June 22, 2026, by 12:00 pm CST.
The authority will consider administrative compliance, proposer responsibility and responsiveness, relevant qualifications and experience, qualifications of proposed personnel/team, references, and the reasonableness and competitiveness of proposed pricing and fee structure.
Proposers must demonstrate 5 years of verifiable experience operating a guard service, have a current city of Chicago business license and state of Illinois security contractor license, and canine teams must be trained in live explosives according to nationally recognized standards.
A site visit is encouraged for all interested parties and is scheduled for Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at 11:00 am - 12:30 pm.
All protests or challenges concerning the process, ambiguities, or defects of the RFP must be submitted within seven (7) calendar days after publication of the RFP.
Proposals that do not comply with submittal requirements, contain omissions, erasures, alterations or additions not called for, or are irregular in any way may be rejected. Falsifying information or being barred from doing business with government entities can also lead to rejection.
