The Alabama Council on Developmental Disabilities (ACDD) is seeking proposals for innovative projects that support individuals with developmental disabilities. The projects should align with the goals and objectives outlined in the ACDD's **** five-year state plan or the self-advocacy area of interest. The grant period is for 6 months, tentatively starting April 1, 2026, and ending September 30, 2026. The deadline for questions is February 2, 2026, and the proposal due date is February 26, 2026. Applicants must be nonprofit entities and meet specific eligibility criteria, including state of Alabama vendor requirements. The ACDD will award grants based on the quality of the proposals and the availability of funds. The total project budget includes a federal share and a local match, with a minimum of 25% local match required. Selection shall be based on the factors to be developed by the procuring state entity, which may include among others, the following: specialized expertise, capabilities, and technical competence, as demonstrated by the knowledge, qualifications, experience, prior work, and the budget to meet the rfp. resources available to perform the work, including any specialized experience in working with disability related agencies andor organizations to meet the rfp. record of past performance, quality of work, and contract administration to meet the rfp.
Applicants are welcome from public or private nonprofit entities including state and local governments and organizations, faithbased organizations, hospitals, institutions of higher education, and forprofit organizations. To apply for a project grant from the acdd, an organization must be a nonprofit entity as described in section 501 internal revenue code, for profit corporation, educational institution, state agency, or local government agency.
