The City of Niles, Michigan is seeking bids for the 2026 Major/Local Streets Pavement Resurfacing Program. Bids must be submitted by January 29th, 2026, at 9:00 AM local time. The project includes resurfacing various streets, adjusting drainage structures, and installing pavement markings. The successful bidder must provide performance and labor/material bonds. The city reserves the right to reject any or all proposals. The contractor must complete the entire project by June 26th, 2026. The contractor shall commence work under this contract as soon as possible. The contractor will be charged according to table ****, page 191 of the 2020 mdot standard specifications for construction for each calendar day that the work shall remain uncompleted past the completion date. If there is a dispute between the city and the contractor regarding the question of whether the contractor has completed the specified work satisfactorily andor whether the contractor has certain payments due that cannot be resolved between the city and contractor, the dispute shall be resolved through arbitration.
The contractor shall complete the entire project by friday, june 26th, 2026.
The city will pay to the contractor for the performance of the contract, subject to any additions or deductions provided therein, in current funds, the sum as determined by the actual quantities as final built and the following schedule of unit prices.
The contractor is responsible for negligence or faulty materials or workmanship within the extent and period provided by law, and, upon written notice, he shall remove any defects due thereto and pay for any damage due to other work resulting there from, which shall appear within one year after date of completion and acceptance.
The contract will be awarded based on total bid price.
The undersigned may be required to show that he has performed work similar to that included for a period under the proposed contract for which his proposal is offered.

Each bidder will examine the plans and specifications for the work and make a personal examination of the site of the proposed work and its surroundings.
Samples of the materials shall be submitted for approval when so directed.
The city reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, to waive irregularities in proposals and to accept the proposal that in the opinion of the city council is most advantageous to the city.
