This is a public works project for the **** Mahan Street West Mahan Street Roadway Connection. Bidders are strongly encouraged to visit the site. Various administrative documents are required with the bid, including bid bonds, consent of surety, and ownership disclosure forms. Performance and payment bonds are required from the awarded contractor. The contract duration is 45 calendar days from the notice to proceed. Payments will be made based on work performed, with retainage withheld. Subcontractors must be listed and their experience provided. A maintenance bond is required for two years after acceptance. Dispute resolution involves mediation followed by arbitration.
The contractor shall commence performance of the work within ten 10 calendar days from the delivery of a notice from the owner to proceed and achieve substantial completion no later than fortyfive 45 calendar days from issuance of a notice to proceed.
Progress payments will be made based on work performed, installed, and approved by the engineer. Retainage of 2% to 10% will be withheld until final completion, depending on contract value. Final payment is made after all work is completed and all documentation is submitted.
The contractor guarantees all work against defects due to faulty materials or workmanship for a period of two 2 years from the date of final completion of the project.
The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder.
Bidders must provide experience and background information, and proposed subcontractors must also list their experience. The owner has the right to reject any subcontractor who does not establish their experience, competence, and financial ability.
A penalty of **** may be deducted for each person for each calendar day during which discrimination or intimidation occurs. The contract may be canceled or terminated for violations.
