This is a Request for Bids for the demolition and removal of structures located at 613 College Avenue, **** North 5th Street, and 811 Madison Street in Quincy, Illinois. Bids must be submitted on the enclosed form and returned to the City Clerk's office by Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at 11:00 AM. Bids must include demolition unit pricing for each property. Electronic or facsimile bids will not be considered. Proposals must be typewritten or handwritten in black ink. Bid prices must remain effective for a minimum of sixty (60) days. Contractors must comply with prevailing wage requirements and provide proof of insurance. Hazardous materials, including asbestos, must be handled according to federal and state codes. The contractor is responsible for obtaining demolition permits and arranging utility disconnections. Site inspections are recommended. Demolition work must be completed within 30 days of starting. The City reserves the right to cancel the contract with 30 days prior written notice. Certified payroll records are required before payment. The contract award will be to the lowest responsible bidder, considering price and other factors such as ability, capacity, skill, character, integrity, reputation, judgment, experience, and efficiency.
The bid notice states that all work must be completed within thirty (30) days or less from the date of the notice to proceed. The contractor shall commence demolition and removal work no later than fifteen (15) days from the date of the notice to proceed.
