Sealed bids for the 112 N 2nd St façade lot infill will be received at Douglas City Hall until 2:00 PM MST on November 5th, 2025, and then will be publicly opened and read aloud. An optional prebid conference will be held at 2:00 PM MST at 112 N 2nd Street on October 29th, 2025. Bids must be submitted on the bid form and accompanied by bid security payable to the city of Douglas in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount bid. The successful bidder must execute the agreement within fifteen (15) calendar days after receiving notice of award.
The work to be completed under this contract shall be commenced within sixty (60) calendar days after receipt of notice to proceed, weather permitting.
Applications for payment shall be submitted by the twenty-fifth (25th) day of each month for presentation to the city council for their approval at the first scheduled council meeting of the following month.
The bidder shall guarantee all materials and equipment furnished and work performed for a period of one (1) year from the date of final acceptance.
The term successful bidder means the lowest, qualified, responsible, and responsive bidder who receives the project award based on the owners evaluation per ****(c).
The bidder must be qualified in experience, financial status, and adequate equipment to do the work called for in the plans and specifications.
If the contractor should fail to complete the work within the time specified in the contract, he shall pay the owner as liquidated damages, the amount per working day for each day that the work remains uncompleted beyond the specified completion date or time period, unless there shall have been an extension of time granted by the owner.
