To be considered an acceptable equivalent, a proposed equal unit must feature a 44- inch cutting width, a minimum 4- inch material cutting capacity, a horizontal reach of at least 8 feet, and a vertical reach of up to 16 feet. The unit must be compatible with skid steers having a minimum operating weight of 6, 500 lbs and feature a greaseable direct drive system with a 17- 30 gpm piston motor ( approx. 1, 203 lbs operating up to 4, 000 psi, case drain required). Rugged construction is mandatory, requiring a 3- inch x 16- inch tilt cylinder, a heavy- duty 5/8- inch thick blade carrier equipped with two double- sided 5/8- inch thick AR400 steel blades, and a protective push bar.
