The Borough of Madison is soliciting bids for on-site log & brush grinding services. Bids must be submitted by Thursday, September 3, 2026, at 10:00 am. The contract term is one year with two possible one-year extensions. The award will go to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder based on the full day rate (8 hours machine working time). Bidders must provide all equipment and operators, including an excavator with a grapple. The contractor has 30 days from the PO date to complete the work, or a 10% penalty applies per occurrence. Site visits are strongly encouraged at the DPW yard.
Bids will be publicly opened on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at 10:00 am prevailing time.
The municipality covenants and agrees to pay said contractor for such labor and or materials and equipment according to the aforesaid proposal upon presentation of a bill or bills duly verified and approved by the proper officer and committee.
The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder based on the full day rate.
Bidders must complete the qualification of bidder form along with proof of experience and three references.
If the work is not completed within 30 days from the issued PO date, the borough reserves the right to assess a ten percent 10 penalty on the total amount of the invoice for each occurrence.
Bidders are strongly encouraged to visit the dpw yard at 10 john avenue, madison, nj ****.
Prospective bidders who wish to challenge a bid specification may file such challenges in writing with the contracting agent no less than three 3 business days prior to the opening of the bids.
Failure to submit the required information is cause for automatic rejection of the bid or proposal.
