Sussex County is requesting sealed competitive proposals for the purchase and delivery of new fully operational Type I or Type III ambulances that meet all applicable federal standards, Delaware Fire Commission requirements ( NFPA- **** compliant), safety requirements, and current industry manufacturing guidelines.

Type I or Type III Ambulances Purchase and delivery of new, fully operational Type I or Type III ambulances. Sussex County intends to purchase three new ambulances each fiscal year from FY 2027 to FY 2029, for a total of up to nine ambulances. Fire and ambulance companies will have the ability to purchase additional ambulances off the same contract. The most current available model year shall be provided. Ambulances will be delivered to designated volunteer fire company or ambulance company locations within Sussex County. The expectation is that the ambulance would be turnkey, providing a combination of equipment, products, and services, delivery, and installation for a properly operating ambulance. Additional equipment, accessories, and supplies incidental to the purchase of a turnkey ambulance will be bid as alternate items and will be at the expense of each company. Demo ambulances that can be supplied within 60 days of award may also be included.
